As a result, many young people miss out on acquiring essential skills that could bridge the gap between education and employment.
Local youth workers, including vocational counselors and community program coordinators, frequently encounter challenges in providing adequate training and guidance to youth in these underserved areas. Factors such as transportation issues, limited program offerings, and funding constraints often complicate their efforts. Youth workers are committed to nurturing the professional development of young people but may be under-resourced to implement effective skill-building initiatives that align with the local job market.
The funded initiative aims to address these capacity gaps by supporting skill development training for youth workers operating in rural settings throughout North Dakota.
